Scooters in Music Vids

Scoots are occasionally used as a backdrop for bands music vids, to add a bit of cool and attitude. Here's one from way back in '89- Good Thing by the Fine Young Cannibals, you've probably seen it loads of times before, but it presents a nice snapshot of the scootering scene of that time. It's become a classic and worth another look, shot in black and white, which gives it a very stylish look ! (An easy old trick often used!)Notice some nice looking skellies and cut-downs.

Another music vid featuring scooters, You get What You Give, by The New Radicals. It reached no.5 in 1999. Thers a nice little shot from a camera mounted on the side of a lammie! And a great song!

There are a couple more music vids with scooters in them, anybody know them??

Ignore the 'americanism' - they're from Pontypridd!

Gerry and his Pacemaker. This has been on a few other websites.

A classic track from an old black'n' white film (a bit before my time!) and at the end, they all hop on their scoots!

Or how about his! A bit obscure, but stick with it- it's an old advert (of sorts!)

Class Jim!

Peter Agg from Lambretta Concessionaires certainly had his head screwed on right- all that free advertising at the height of Lambrettas popularity for the cost of 3 Lammies!

There was an interview with Gerry Marsden on Radio 2 a couple of months ago, and he mentioned that he was on a flight from somewhere many years after the film, when he was approached by a fellow passenger who turned out to be an old friend. Apparently Gerry had given his Lambretta to this guy who lived in the same street- the friend remembered it, but complained that "it always broke down!!"

No change there then!

Interestingly the scoots appear to be LI's and not "Pacemakers"

Spotted this one while trawling thru the LCGB site- features a nicely modded Lambretta (SX 150? ) and a Vespa.

3 of coventry's finest lads there, not that I'm biased with it being my home city an all !! But they do bash out some good tunes.
Someone told me one of those lads' dads used to ride in the same scooter club as me back in the 80's in Coventry, I ought to find out for sure. If so, what a small world, though I wouldn't wanna paint it!

Martin- that's interesting- and their music is good- liked this one from first hearing! Also I thought the Lambretta used in the vid was classy looking- no flyscreen!!
