Ah yes- A Quick One, right! I am a muppet! Anyway, here's another clue for "UP"- Iconic Mod Band, the singer is brown bread (dead), UP is in the first line of the song- too easy now!

OK- try this one. A Locarno favourite:-

Listen
I was brought up on a side street
I learned how to love before I could eat
I was educated at Woodstock
When I start lovin' I just can't stop

Another then- late 1968 early 1969. Top 20 stuff:-

I'm sorry you couldn't call me
When you got home
But other fellows kept on calling
While you were gone

OK again.

This was another Locarno favourite from 1967. The British lead singer, who was an unknown then, found fame in the 1970's and was tragically killed.

This song was banned by the BBC due to the line about "lift up your skirts..." (which, BTW, isn't the first line of the song- the first line contains the song title):-

Lift up your skirt and fly.
Just because my friend and I
Got a jute joint by the Seine
Does not mean I'm past fourteen
And cannot play the game
