Exhaust question for anoraks

Postby Jim » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:34 pm

Or should that be parkas? Just been having a bit of a fiddle in the garage (!) sorting out the scoot for MOT and taken the megaphone exhaust off for a bit of refurbishment, and popped this old standard box on as a temporary arrangement. This exhaust was on the scoot when it came over from Italy, and looks pretty old, although in quite good nick apart from some light surface rust. It's got some numbers (IGM?) stamped on it, just wondering if it's worth owt!!

I'll be taking the scoot out tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see what the difference in performance will be (not that I'm bothered about that stuff!) as everybody says that jimmy type 'sports' exhausts slow the bike down quite a bit! (Not mentioning 'arf a ton of chromey bits!)

Well spotted regarding the drain- scoot was half in/ half out the garage and sure 'nuff every other bleedin' nut'n' washer was pinging down through the drain slots like a good'un- couldn't've got more down there if I tried- it's called sods law! It's only a soak away and the grid lifts off, so no parts lost! My missus has been out all day, and I've bin polishing up the sidepanels on the dining table- all put away before she got back- phew!

I sold a standard genuine S3 exhaust on Ebay about 6 years ago.

It went for £156.00............................................
