London Ride Out

Postby davetheoldmod » Mon Dec 14, 2009 1:34 am

Well I can quite honestly say that after doing Gingers Egg Run for 3 years running, The IOW, The Manchester bikers Xmas run, Skeggie in the 60's that I think todays experience was the best of the best, my daughter Caroline , who is a TV producer, and met us at Bar Italia, and has never been on a vintage scoot, is still talking about riding pillion and spent 20 minutes tonight on the phone to Liz in pure praise of our scene. Thank you to everyone who made today possible, what I wanted from a scooter club we have found at BMSC. The SX has been removed from e-bay, the lights will be sorted in the New Year ( thanks to my wingmen on the return to Chiswick ) special thanks to Steve for sorting out the day, and thanks to everyone who made today a brilliant MOD DAY. See you in the Spring when James Brindley Nicholson V.C will be back out again. MERRY XMAS & A HAPPY MOD NEW YEAR.........Dave and Liz

Thanks Dave.

Yes it was a great day. The atmosphere in London is always a bit special this close to Christmas.

As usual, we were the top tourist attraction!

Sympathy to Dave M after his scoot suffered terminal engine failure. Credit to Gerry for undertaking a carb` stripdown on the side of the road, unfortunately to no avail. Steve W stepped in offering Dave his pillion, but not before Russ had offered Dave his OAP bus pass (Sorry Russ, had to get that in)

All in all, a great day, in good company, with a lot of laughs.

Well done Jim and Steve and thanks for the efforts sorting stuff out and driving etc.Good company and a great laugh. :-D

Got a feeling some of the major tourists spots are getting used to our visits - big concrete tank traps at Tower Hill now. ;-) Never mind.

:freezing: It was cold but that didnt matter - another great BMSC day. :freezing:

Seasons Compliments to all our listeners. Have a scootiful New Year. Norm :cheeky:

Most excellent day! Shame about Dave M's scooter deciding it didn't want to play, despite the heroic efforts by our ace team mechanics, Gerry and Stevie W, but that's old scoots for you! Mind you, I aint the sort to brag, but did you see how quickly I replaced my broken aerial 'n' flag at Bar Italia- must be my fastest time yet!

Big thanx to everyone who got up at stupid o'clock and made it yet another fantastic BMSC day out! As usual, Gerry made an excellent tour guide, assisted by Norm, and thanx and well done to Steve H for being the top geezer of the day, in fact we all did a superb job, yet again, of showing the big city what mod scooters are all about!

I've just been viewing the vids I took, and all the scoots look amazing- the one Steph took from the back of the scoot from Carnaby Street to Bar Italia came out pretty good, and I'll have a Youtube vid of our day posted up very shortly.

Here's a great shot of Mike in Oxford Street- could almost be a Christmas card!
