Night Out- Mickey Lavins

Postby Jim » Sat Feb 13, 2010 7:30 pm

Those of you who were at our AGM will recall that we discussed the venue for our next Locarno Night, and Bernie suggested Mickey Lavins, in Denmark Street. This Friday (19th Feb) Bernie is having one of his now famous 'Sole Room' nights there, so in the dutiful line of research, myself and Steve H are going along to check the place out, and if anyone else would like to assist us, that would be just great- the more the merrier! (With or without the missus!)

We're meeting at 9:00pm for a drink or two at the Bunch Of Grapes, which is next door to Mickey Lavins. Quite an appropriate pub, as it was often used as a meeting place for a brown split before going onto the Locarno way back in the sixties!

We all know that Bernie puts on a fab show, so should be a most excellent night.

Looking forward to seeing you there. Jim

I was supposed to meet a bird outside there before going to the Locarno in 1967- I didn't turn up!

If she's still there ask her to ring me (she's 15, mini skirt, boots and black liner make up)

Sorry- can't be there myself

OK Chris will do! I was just searching on line for a nice pic of a sixties girl in a mini skirt, (all in the line of research, you understand- honest!!) and found this Italian website dedicated to the mini skirt. Not quite as pervy as it may sound- all black'n' white photos from that era, including a smashing shot of the gorgeous Jean Shrimpton sat on a Cento, (the right click mouse function is disabled, so can't copy- pity!!) and a classic pic taken in Carnaby Street in '67. Could almost be us lot (at the time) standing behind the girl!
