Hoggin' The Bridge

Great ride - big thanx to all who set off early (for a Sunday morn !) in what was pretty cold cloudy weather. We all must've looked at the same weather forecast, cuz the met office blokes promised it would remain dry, with the sun coming out, and they were actually right! Nice to see Norm on his annual rideout - well done buddy!

All was going well until somebody managed to snap a gear cable - no names no pack drill - but it really wouldn't be a proper scootering day out without some sort of breakdown!

Good to see quite a few scoots from other clubs taking part, 'tho of course we were well out numbered by the bikers - bloody thousands of 'em! Still, they're a good bunch of geezers, and they always like to have a look at the scoots! "Hey, what size hair dryer is the engine?" and all the usual banter- all good fun!

A really warm reception from all the crowds as usual made it a very enjoyable day - if you couldn't get to go on this ride this year, put it in next years diary- it's not to be missed!

see ya soon. Jim.

OK, I`ll put my hands up, it was my gear cable that snapped

Big thanks to all who chipped in to help with the fix, especially Gerry, who as always was first on the scene with the spanners :clapping:

Unfortunately the cable replacement was carried out on the side of the road witnessed by several hundred passing bikers! of course they had a field day, so apologies to all fellow scooterists for any stress caused! :scooter:

steve
as we where riding from Magor to Caldicot seen plenty of yamasakis park on side of road with head scratching pillion riders so if you got a 45 year scoot with a broken cable it must be easier to fix than a 150 BHP ECU unit
good day out no problems no stress
