A family friend has been involved in a RTA with a car causing his motor bike to be written off, and substantial damage to the front of the car- luckily he only has minor injuries.

The rub is that he wasn't showing "L" plates, and his insurance company are now telling him that his insurance is invalid. They are covering the damage to the 3rd party but are seeking repayment from him via some sort of "Order" over his house(?). They are not paying out for his damage. The Police are getting "awkward" as well.

Don't know too many details, but its obvious that the nice cuddly insurance company look at every opportunity not to pay out these days.
