usual story- "didn't see you mate"...............

Approaching a RBT; all clear both sides, then an elderly driver decides to drive straight across in front of me with the inevitable result.

Tomorrow morning should be interesting pain wise!

Funerals arranged fot tuesday apparently. Yellow and white tv- front mudguard; front and rear crash bars; front brake lever; 2 spotlights. Bike feels odd to drive- hoping its the stearing bearings rather than the frame. Personally my right side
is fecked a bit

Bit of a 'Mr Postman' moment then!

Good to hear you're still in one piece, tho bit of a bummer about the scoot!

I presume you will be claiming on the car drivers insurance!

A lot of drivers, elderly or not, are just looking for other cars! They just don't see pushbikes, mopeds, motorbikes and vintage scooters!

A few years back, in the wet, a geezer pulled out from a parked position in Queens Road, and I did the usual back wheel lock up/ skid and stopped about two inches from broadsiding into his car! He lowered his electric window, and actually said those immortal words "Sorry mate, I didn't see you!" FFS!

bollox to that- I'm going to sort the steering races out tomorrow and take it round the block- fast.

If I don't do it tomorrow I never will and I'm not ready to hang up me helmet yet.

Thanks for your concern- its appreciated

UPDATE

frame checked to the best of my ability and found to be straight. Steering bearings adjusted and bike now handles as before (why do steering bearings tighten up in a shunt? Anyone know?)

Damage is now restricted to front and rear crash bars and front muguard together with 2 spots U/S.

Test driven "like I stole it" and all appears well, apart from every part of my body aching like hell- lucky....... :riding:
