Following my recent RTA, I need to source some quality crash bars (front and rear) for my TV175S3.

Anyone got any suggestions? (Scootopia are out of stock)

is that the "jug handle" type as per those on the black and white TV?

If so I'll have them- assuming the fixing hole measurements tie up with my existing holes

Chris- just as a point of interest, d'you think having the crash bars fitted to your scoot 'saved' the scooter, or did they contribute to the damage, i.e., distorting or denting the leg-shields on impact.

I can remember coming off my scoot many years ago, (going a bit too fast round a corner - tut tut!) only to watch my scoot 'ski-ing down the road on the crash bars, whilst I slid along the road on my arse'n'elbows, sparks flying, and coming to rest in someones drive, stopped by their parked car! (sort that one out, Mr insurance man!)

to be honest Jim, I think they saved the front of the bike!

Normally a blow to the crash bars transfers the energy into the fixing points and beyond, damaging the leggies etc. All I had to do was bend back the N/S legshield (which didn't even split the paintwork) and the shape is perfect. The main damage is to the front mudguard and I've now just ordered a "proper" fibre glass one from Birmingham. Need to get that sprayed and fitted and everything should be OK. Gerrys crash bars sound good to finish it off.

The only real damage is to my right side and elbow, but the other drivers ins coy have offered me some wonga to go away- result!
