Bristol Mini Day

Postby Jim » Sun Jun 16, 2013 6:54 pm

Firstly, fair play to all the guys who turned up to ride to the Mini Day , on Father's Day an' all, - well done, and thanx!

Secondly, WTF are these weather forecasters up to!! Last night they confirmed that the wet weather in the lower south west would not come up as far as Bristol! Yeah, right!! Got totally soaked as soon as we got the scoots outa the garage! Still, the organizers of the Mini Day, who always appreciate us turning up, reserved an area in one of their out buildings for us, along with the trade stands. So at least we weren't just standing in a field, getting wet and watching our scoots going rusty, as so often happens at these events!

And boy, were the roads slippy!! Brown trouser moment of the day had to be when Steve had to pull up a bit sharpish for some lights! His back wheel locked up, and the scoot started to slide sideways (we've all done it at some time!) Steve managed to control it perfectly, but being just behind him, it sort of looked funny, and we all laughed about it afterwards!

We've got another rideout next Sunday, see Ger's posting for details. Hopefully, the weather will be a bit better!!

See ya next time!
