Portishead Carnival - 14th June

Postby Jim » Sun Jun 08, 2014 8:21 pm

The Portishead Carnival is taking place this Saturday, 14th June, and our club will be taking part again, as we have done in the last few years! (There wasn't one last year!)

This annual event raises lots of money for charity, and as in previous years, we will be joining up with our friends in Portishead S.C. and leading the carnival procession.

It's only a short ride through the High street, ending up in a showground opposite Gordano school, where there are lots of stalls, sideshows and some live music! And of course, a beer tent!

This really is a good event to be involved with, and as mentioned, it's all for charity!

We'll be meeting at the Arnolfini at 10:30am this Saturday 14th June, leaving at 11:00am to be at Portishead Lake grounds for 11:30, with the carnival procession starting off from there at midday.

You can of course, meet us there at the Lake grounds.

Here's the details again-

MEET AT 10:30AM

AT THE ARNOLFINI

THIS SATURDAY 14TH JUNE

DEPARTING AT 11:00AM

TO RIDE TO THE LAKE GROUNDS

AT PORTISHEAD FOR THE START

OF THE PROCESSION AT MIDDAY.

Please try and support this event if you can - it really is a good day!

See you at the Arno!

Wow! What a great day!

Excellent turnout from the Bristol scooter clubs - there must've been more than thirty scoots turn up! Combine that with the really good weather, and we practically turned it into a scooter rally!

We led the parade as slow as we could, leaving a nice hazey cloud of blue smoke for all the floats behind us! I reckon the guys in the Scottish pipe band must've been blowing smoke rings outa their bagpipes!

Well done to all who were there! A really fantastic show!
