Bitton Railway Station are commemorating the 50th anniversary of the date the last passenger trains ran on the Avon Valley line with a special event day on Sunday March 6th.

As well as steam and diesel trains giving rides, several vintage vehicles from the sixties era will also be there, and we'll be joining them on our scooters.

Here's the plan-

MEET AT THE ARNOLFINI

ON SUNDAY MARCH 6TH

BETWEEN 11:00 and 11:30AM

DEPARTING AROUND MIDDAY

TO RIDE TO BITTON RAILWAY STATION.

Alternatively you can meet up with us at the station!

No idea what the forecast for the Sunday is going to be like, but obviously any ride out this time of year is very weather dependent, so let's hope we get a dry and mildish day!

Here's a link to their website for more info-

Take care and ride safe!

Good turnout at The Arnolfini for the ride to Bitton Railway Station this morning, specially when you consider it was Mother's Day and also a bit parky!

Nice selection of old cars there, as well as on old double decker bus, and of course some lovely old trains running in and out of the station!

This old Triumph Herald was stunning, as were all the cars there!

Pleased you had a good day :clapping:

I was planning on going on this rideout................until last weekend when I was underneath one of my coaches and managed to trap my hand in one of the 4 fanbelts, resulting in the (painful!) loss of about an inch of my right index finger. Spent most of Sat night at A & E, Sun at plastic surgeon, Mon on operating table, for what they told me was a `partial revision amputation` Tues was probably the most pain I`ve ever been in. It`s now become infected so even more painful! :grrr:

Appointment with plastic surgeon on Thurs, so hopefully it will be good news and no further surgery

With any luck I might be fit enough for our Easter ride to WSM

Just don`t call me `Stumpy` !!!

nasty Steve- same thing happened to a mate of mine a few years ago. Caught his index finger in a fan belt. He actually died from his injuries......................although he was actually picking his nose with said finger at the time! :-D
