Hoggin' The Bridge - Sun 30th Sept

Postby Jim » Sun Sep 23, 2018 5:26 pm

It's the annual Hoggin' The Bridge charity ride this coming Sunday 30th September.

Hundreds of bikers and a fair few scooterists ride across The Old Severn Bridge and meet up at a final destination where refreshments and entertainment are available!

This is from the HTB 2018 website-

Following the huge success of the 2017 Hoggin The Bridge event the team have spent time listening to feedback from those who attended, and after giving away over £13,500 pounds to 24 charitable organisations we have some extremely exciting news to share. This years changes will ensure the event runs better than ever, with more money than ever going to charity.

Extended Route – The team have mapped out and ridden a new route, which still takes you over the iconic Severn Bridge but is now just over 6 miles longer

Improved Starting Configuration – A new layout has been created Aust to make your entrance into the event more streamlined

New End Venue Location – The David Broome Event Centre will be our host venue for 2018

New Merchandise – New products such as pens, mugs and keyrings will be on sale, along with the infamous pin badges and T-Shirts.

More Catering Units – We have listened to your feedback and will be ensuring their is a wider variety of catering stalls, at both Aust and The David Broome Event Centre

New Date – Ensuring that Hoggin The Bridge does not clash with other important biker diary dates, we have bought the event forward to Sunday 30th September 2018

As you can see, they have extended the route this year by six miles! We'll be deciding amongst those of us who turn up on the day whether we will ride their route, or go on our own shorter route!

This is a fund raising charity event so the admission fee at The David Broome Event Centre at Crick, Caldicot will be £10.

So here is our plan -

MEET IN MORRISONS CAR PARK

AT CRIBBS CAUSEWAY BRISTOL

ON SUNDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER

AT 10:30AM LEAVING AT 11:00AM

TO JOIN IN HOGGIN' THE BRIDGE

AT AUST SERVICE STATION

BY THE OLD SEVERN BRIDGE.

This has always been a good day out on the scoots with all the bikers, so hope you are able to join us!

And as always, please take great care and ride really safely!

OK! We've had a bit of feedback on this one!

Some guys aren't too keen on doing The Hoggin' The Bridge for various reasons, but they would like to do a more local ride!

So we are still meeting up in Morrisons car park at Cribbs Causeway and those who want to do The HTB ride can leave there as planned at 11:00am, and for those that don't want to do the HTB ride, there will be a local rideout leaving from Morrisons car park around 11:30am, destination to be decided on the day!

Hope this isn't too confusing!

Just trying to keep everyone happy!

Any probs please contact me on 07816 194736
