Yet another flat

As me as jim Were about to depart Arno ,noticed my rear tyre flat ! Got home rubber had perished and split at bottom of valve ! Another new tube ! When it rains eh !

are you using the correct inner tube with the offset valve? Many inner tubes today simply have the valve in the centre of the tube which causes strain when placed into a Lambretta split rim- they will perish and fail eventually.
Lambretta scootering April 1968 to April 2021. Now retired.

you could also check the actual hole on the rim which the valve passes through- make sure its smooth and not jagged/ rusty.
