Bristol Modernist Weekender - Cancelled

Postby Jim » Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:13 am

Unfortunately due to the on-going uncertainty of the Coronavirus situation, the organizing team for The Bristol Modernist Weekender that was due to take place at the end of April this year have decided to very sadly cancel this event yet again!

This same event for last year was cancelled for the very same reason, and here we are one year on and the event is being cancelled again!

A real shame, as they had a really good line up of bands and DJs for the Friday and Saturday nights and of course there was going to be a big daytime event on the Saturday including a grand rideout through Bristol City Centre!

The good news is that all being well (surely by then we hope!) this event has been re-arranged to take place in 2022 on April 29th to May 2nd at the same venue with the same super line up. Obviously if you have already paid for any tickets then they will still be valid for next year!

For more info please check out the Suit Yourself Modernist Culture page on Facebook or take a look at their website- https://www.suityourselfmodernists.com

Well, what can you say! Last year we all thought that by May 2021 all this covid stuff would be well under control! Very sadly not the case although we are just beginning to see some signs of decline in the figures which is encouraging news! Hopefully we will see more improvement over the next few months!

So chin up guys, one day at some point we will get back to normal, or will it just be a different kind of normal!

Take care, ride carefully and try and stay safe! Thanks, cheers, and all the very best to you all!

Thanks for this info Jim

Difficult not to be negative, but it now looks like not a lot will be happening on the social scene during 2021 :grrr: This of course will have a real effect on BMSC, as we are a very sociable bunch!

Perhaps, like last year, there might be a chance we will still have our Brighton and Isle of Wight to look forward to in August :stomp:
