Yes! Two lines of thought spring to mind!
You won't have the hassle of taking the scoot for an MOT, and will be saving a bit of cash every year, especially if you've got a 'collection' ! ( Des in particular!)
Your vintage scooter might not be roadworthy if you're not 'mechanically -minded', and for some scooters, the annual trip to the MOT station is the only time it's actually taken out of the garage!
You can, of course, still take your scooter for a voluntary MOT, if you feel that would give you peace of mind. But as we all know, just having a valid MOT certificate doesn't necessarily mean that the scooter is not going to let you down!
I would say that if you're not 'good with the spanners', a thorough preventative maintenance service undertaken by a reputable professional person, ( somebody who actually knows about old scooters! ) probably just before the start of the scootering season, would be a very good idea, and probably better than just a 'snapshot' of the scooter's roadworthyness at the time of undergoing an MOT!
Just my opinion of course!
Take care and ride safe!
