help/advice needed, snapped Vespa CDI Earth wire!

Postby pip » Mon Feb 05, 2007 7:43 pm

sos to bother you boys and girls

ive got a prob, but there dont seem to be a scoot tech section, but if there is move this post if needed

anyway anyone know this old skool trick we used to do if the CDI Wire was snapped on the unit and unrepairable?

can i have some advice please anyone?

rebuilding my scoot, but the 2nd hand motor ive got (px) has a prob of the earth wire has been snapped on the CDI Box and of course snapped right in the mould bit so no-way i can solder!

but im sure when i used to do scoot years ago and anyone had this prob,we used to by-pass it by splicing another earth wire into a wire from the stator to the cdi unit or frame to the cdi unit etc as one of them was a Earth also,

but to the hell of me i cant bloody remember wihich wire we led off of <img border=0 src="http://www.btinternet.com/~andycbrown/scooterforums/emoticons/dazed053.gif" />

can anyone remember this trick or enlighten me what feed from the stator out is Earth then i can try it again, else ill have to get another cdi unit<img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif" />

but im sure this is how we used to bypass that wire,if snapped?
