Hoggin' The Bridge - Sunday 18th October

Postby Jim » Sun Oct 11, 2015 9:18 pm

The Hoggin' The Bridge event is taking place Sunday, 18th October. This really is an amazing day with well over a thousand bikers (and a few scooterists!) riding over The Old Severn Bridge, turning off at Magor and riding back through Caldicot to Chepstow Race Course.

We will be meeting up on the Downs at 10:30am leaving around 11:00 to join the bikers as they ride onto the bridge.

The bikers will be leaving Severn View Services at 11:00am, and it usually takes quite a while for them all to filter out. In previous years we've joined up with them around 11:20ish. All being well, we shall be doing the same this year.

So here is the plan -

MEET AT THE OLD TEA HUT SPOT

ON THE DOWNS AT 10:30AM

SUNDAY 18TH OCTOBER

DEPARTING AT 11:00AM

TO JOIN THE HOGGIN' THE BRIDGE RIDE

AT THE OLD SEVERN BRIDGE

AT AROUND 11:20AM.

This is a charity event, so please bring some cash with you! It's usually a fiver in the collection bucket to get into Chepstow Race Course.

Really lookin' forward to this one - it's always a great ride and good fun!

Take care and ride safe!

Many thanx to all who took part in this ride today!

This is one of the last blasts of the year, before winter sets in with shorter days and cooler weather!

Quite strangely, the weather on this ride always seems to be good and this year was no exception! Dry, not too cold (for this time of year!) and the sun actually came out later on in the day!

Very good ride, appreciative crowds with the usual hand slapping going on, and even the jelly baby lady was there again handing out sweets! Riding with hundreds of bikers, raising cash for charities, what's not to like!

Hope everyone had a good day and got home safe!
