One Night Only!

Postby Jim » Tue Sep 21, 2010 9:59 am

More like 'One Second Only'! That was the sum total of a Tuesday afternoon's filming in London on a hot summers day! Dave M, Dave C (the old mod) Rich P and myself had to push our scoots around the back lanes of Soho to get into the required locations- just Rich's mirrors on their own probably weigh as much as a standard Lammie, so it was quite a task!

We were half expecting most of our stuff to end up on the floor of the editing room (nowadays called the recycle bin!) and I guess thats all part of the digital age- hours and hours of filming, without the cost of expensive film, so it's all very disposable! But it would have been good to see a bit more of us and the scoots actually used on the program!

Still, it was an enjoyable day, specially riding up and down Frith Street, much to the amusement (or was it annoyance!) of all the cafe society, who were sat outside the numerous cafe bars, sipping on their cappocino, and choking on our two stroke fumes! (Well, at least mine was strawberry flavoured!) And of course, we did get to meet Phil- well, he occasionally glanced our way, an honour indeed!

My cameo appearance hasn't yet affected my life yet- I haven't been recognised whilst out shopping at Asda, I keep peeking out from behind the curtains, and there's no groupies hanging around the front gate (and that was the bit I was looking forward to!!) so I guess I won't be able to chuck in the day job! Oh well, there's always next time!

Here's a vid I knocked up- not a lot of action in it, but I guess that sums up the day!

Jim, I watched the ageing arrogant old fart for an hour and suddenly felt an urge to have a turnout. on returning I am sure that after a sneezing fit, farting and blaming the dog for the smell, I picked my nose and whilst trying to flick the little green bas***d at the wife, I swore I saw an old white haired geezer on a LI Special on my Black and White 14" Bush TV Screen, I could have sworn it was Colin but On checking it out, I was wrong except the Union Jack side-panels were in Black and white so I knew It could not be our revered secretary as his are red white and blue. Anyway the reason for this posting is that I have counterfeit Phil Collins DVD's at £3 each and am donating all profits to myself to help buy some more SX 150 side panel handles as I am a collector. Pse post blank cheques to my gran, Mrs Edna Tole or to Colin Ta :puzzled: :puzzled: :puzzled:

Jim, as already mentioned, I didn`t see the show, but I did see Phil Collins last week on the `One Show` In my opinion he came across as a bit of a miserable old git!

Trotting out a covers album of Motown is surely a bit of a cop out that anyone with a half decent voice could do, and smacks a bit of `Give me the money`

I wonder if his former Genesis bandmates watched the show?
