New to the club, hope this is the correct way to introduce myself.
More than forty years have passed since I last owned a scooter
SX150 reg FFB 87F. I know she's no longer around, but I can still see her in my minds eye, red and white like my favourite football team.
So I've just purchased my next scooter and it needs some (a lot) of restoration.
Three years ago while on holiday in Greece I was wandering around the back streets of a small village when I came across a very badly painted LI150.
The owner was a carpenter by trade and through his son who spoke good english I opened negotiations, he flatly refused to sell, and I thought that was that.
This year I went back to the same place, the scooter was still there, the old guy had sadly died the year before, and his son who had inherited everything (as Greek sons do) was willing to do business....now she's mine, all mine.
If possible I'm hoping to ask lots of questions to help with the restoration, if that's not OK please let me know.
